Punjab Chief Minister visits Maryam Nawaz Center of Excellence for Special Education Students in Shalimar Town, Lahore
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz visited the Maryam Nawaz Centre of Excellence for Special Education in Lahore and launched a new school meal programmed for special needs students. She spent time with differently disabled children, inspected smart classrooms, a Braille reading room, therapy rooms, and computer labs during her visit. She informed the audience that there were currently 28 Centers of Excellence in Punjab for special education, while over 300 special education institutions were either being rebuilt or upgraded. Maryam Nawaz reminded the audience that special children are “heroes” of society and said the government is working on increasing facilities for them through better transportation, enrolment, health facilities, and schemes like the “Himmat Card” for differently disabled persons.
