Chris Paul: NBA Legend and the “Point God”
Chris Paul, aka “CP3” and frequently referred to as the “Point God,” was born May 6, 1985, in Winston Salem, North Carolina, and is widely regarded as one of the all time best players at the point guard position. Drafted fourth overall in 2005 out of Wake Forest, he came into the league hot with an NBA Rookie of the Year Award and fast tracked his development into a top tier playmaker with elite court vision, leadership, and defensive instincts. Spanning more than two decades, Paul has been a 12x NBA All Star, selected to 11x All NBA teams, and named to nine All Defensive teams, as a player with the esteemed reputation of elevating every team he stepped foot onto, from the New Orleans Hornets to the Los Angeles Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, and beyond. Recognized for his consistency and basketball IQ, he is ranked second all time in both career assists and steals behind only John Stockton, and earned two Olympic gold medals with Team USA as well. In 2025, Paul returned to the Clippers for what he announced would be his final NBA season, a legacy defined by leadership, longevity, and even off court impact through philanthropic efforts such as the Chris Paul Family Foundation. Even in his final season, he continues to mentor younger teammates, proving the skill, professionalism, and influence to date that have made him one of basketball’s most respected and enduring figures.
