Khaleda Zia, is reportedly in a critical condition
The 79 year old former Prime Minister and chairperson of Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Khaleda Zia, is reportedly in a critical condition. She was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka and transferred to the Critical Care Unit due to lung and heart related infections. Khaleda Zia has been suffering from several chronic health disorders, including heart problems (with a pacemaker and stents), diabetes, kidney and liver complications, lung issues, arthritis, and eye disorders. She underwent treatment in London earlier this year and since then had been under regular medical supervision on her return. On November 23, 2025, her condition took a turn for the worse, and she was hospitalized, and on November 27, 2025, she was shifted to CCU and kept under intensive care. The BNP and family have sought dova for her recovery, and a group of expert doctors has been monitoring her constantly. At her age and considering the history of long standing health adversities she has been facing, her current condition is considered serious, and public and political circles are asked to uphold privacy while treatment is on.
