South African captain Temba Bavuma has created a new record in Test cricket. On Wednesday, South Africa beat India by an enormous margin of 408 runs in the Guwahati Test, completing a 2-0 series clean sweep.
India set a target of 549 runs in the second innings but the entire Indian team was bowled out for just 140 runs. With this, South Africa achieved the distinction of winning a Test series on Indian soil for the first time in 25 years.
This victory made Temba Bavuma of South Africa the captain to have won most matches in Test cricket without experiencing any loss as a captain. Under his captaincy, 11 out of 12 matches have been won, with one ending in a draw. No team has beaten South Africa in a Test match under his captaincy thus far.
